I posted a thread in the "For Trade" area for a Buck custom Dagger several days ago. I then posted a thread in the 'Buck Knife' site with a link to the trade page. I have seen this before and don't see anything wrong with this. I was shut down and given an infraction. I responded to the moderator and appoligized but didn't understand what was wrong. Can anybody explain to me, what I did wrong? because the rules didn't cover this issue.

I'm not a seller, so I don't know all the details, but off the bat I notice that you are not registered as a Gold Member, so that would bar you from the Bucks For Sale forum.

I posted the thread on the Buck site not the for sale site. It was just a link saying BUCK COSTUM DAGGER if interested check out the link to the TRADE page.

I don't think the Buck site is for buying, selling and trading. That's why they set up the Buck Knives For Sale site. That, and it could be considered "deal spotting" or advertising. Just guessing. :)

I under stand, I just wanted any body that was interested to be able to check it out especially Buck collectors. The post in the buck site didn't imply there was a sale or trade. It simply said check it out and gave a link. At very least Buck collectors could see a pretty cool Knife, thats all.:( I dont want any problems, I just thought buck collectors would be more interested than the average joe spidy collector.

I read the rules and this wasn't covered. I don't like knowing I have an infraction for this. also in the Tradw page I posted if anybody needs a trade value, it can be given via e-mail, I was given an infraction for this as well:confused::confused::(

this normal forum site here is not for selling..
i my self got a infraction for a not really serious offer to buy a knife..

They did not set up the buck for sale forum for that reason!!!
This is HOW the Buck Knives For Sale forum..come to be..

I made the orgional suggestion and request for it
and did the cheer leading pushing for it ..
why - well the old search if you put in Buck
you were over whelmed with knives for a buck..
any way
this drew the ire of the bussy knife folks and others who posted here
WTF who do you think you are to ask for your own sale forum!!

well any way, the Main Man here said if we manged to get
30 [or was it 40] New Gold Memberships
that he would grant that request!!
we ended up with 50 new gold memberships most upgrades..
and we got our Bucks For Sale Forum
dont know what they did
but the buzzy knife boys managed to get one also..

You only got a warning, not an infraction. No worries there. The problem with starting a thread in a discussion area pointing to a thread already going in the trade/for sale areas is that if it were allowed, everyone would do it, and it would be a mess of threads watering down relevant ones.

Hi, mbj. As Kiah pointed out, you only got warning, not an infraction with points on your record.

I moved your thread to this forum, which is the proper place for questions about Bladeforums procedures. On the Buck forum, you could get a lot of friends guessing at the right answer, but you couldn't be sure.

The Exchange forums are for selling and trading, the manufacturer forums for discussion of the products. Too many notices of what's already posted for sale or trade are redundant -- anyone who's looking to buy knows where to go.
