Kind of a stupid question, but I noticed in a lot of post replies they contain a quote from another post copied into their post. The quote is separated by lines and says quote. This would make it a lot easier to reply to particular comments with out retyping the text. Is their some special technique to doing this?

cucharadedragon-- at the bottom right of each post in a thread is a button labeled "quote". Hit that instead of "post reply" and it will automatically quote the post at the top of your new post. You can cut unnecessary text as needed before you post your reply.

Thanks and lets see if this works.

You have to leave the UBB marks for the quote to work as well as the italics and the bold lettering.

I put a space in the pertaining marks below so the wouldn't go blank like the ones above.

I left everything there from your post but mine still doesn't look right. Do you have to add the lines, bold and such or does it do it automatically when you quote correctly? Don't know what UBB marks are but I didn't delete anthing. Also, don't see an edit button.

Just hit the quote button and type after the last [ /quote] tag.

OK here we go again!
Thanks it looks like I have at least part of it right!! Now for mutiple quotes.

I have seen posts that quote from numerous *different* previous posts, with the appropriate comments following each individual quotes. How does that work? I mean, suppose I wanted to quote from Feltman's post and Yvsa's post and Sudsvall's post, all in the same reply. Did I miss something in the above posts?

You have to manually add extra
s, & contents.

You can type the bracketed qoute /quote markers
or press the quote button above the text window.

This is what you get if you interupt the UBB Code.

The UBB Code is the brackets and the words enclosed in the brackets that you don't see unless you click on the "quote" button.
If you disturb them in any way or delete any of the code it will throw everything off.

Edited because I messed up the code in one place. :p
