Does anyone have a source for this stuff? I've searched the web with little luck, the only source I found was a water filtration company that only sold in bulk. Getting a little frustrated.

I can buy off the shelf in Canada in a pharmacy, used as a water / foot fungal treatment.

Because it's an oxidizer haz mat shipping could be huge $

I've heard to try pool supply companies. You may have to buy a pound or so.

Wear latex gloves - it will turn your skin brown for months. It takes about 1/8 of a teaspoon in a 1/2" deep dish of water to get a nice dark purple color and that is all that's needed to darken your wood. It takes very little.

Thanks for the warnings, guys. I know it's very strong. I am going to use it on stag. One of the things that have frustrated me a little is when you fit the stag it ends up white. If you look at knives made with stag by guys who really know their stuff, you do not see any color other than amber and deep browns. So, once the stag is ready for fitting, I intend to color it. Anyway, lol, that's the plan.

As said its an oxidiser.
Be careful with it. It can cause otherwise non hazardous stuff to combust.

I use to get it at a swimming pool supplier or Sears in the water softening section. Use to sell smaller quantities of it at Sears

I work in a laboratory and we use this for mercury testing. If you can't get any I may be able to help :)

I got it locally at Menards. Lowes or Home Depot might have it too.

Yes, I ordered 2 pounds for $32.00 from Home Depot. enough to last the rest of my life, lol. Now I just need to figure out how the get that lovely amber/dark brown combo on my stag.
