Something about black and white photos in the rain. Weve had days of rain and I just happen to be overnighting every time, lately.
These photos were from two separate overnight trips with rain. Black and white photography is all about texture and there were a lot of options.
The wet woods!

Because of the rain, it was easier to use my hobo stove for boiling water and cooking
Lots of prep

Pyramid fire into a long fire

My bedroom

The heater

Beech leaves make pretty good toilet paper, even in the winter when the leaves are brown and still on the tree they work very well. Once the leaves fall off the tree, they arent the best source of TP.

Log-Cabin for coals

Ready to cook

Potato and Egg

Put into the coals and hot ash

Waiting and enjoying nature

After 25 min in maple coals

I added cheese because life is better with it!

Interesting fact, the bottom stayed free of any char, while the top and sides got a little charred, but only a thin outer layer.

Dinner time, mash and gravy.

I slept well with a long-fire as my warmth.

Morning meal

The H&B Forge Boys Hawk is a good kindling maker!

Back to work!
This type of camp takes a lot of effort to keep going because I sleep next to the long-fire, so I need a large amount of fire wood for cooking and sleep. Its good exercise and always keeps me up on my tool skills!

Some projects

Miniature of my camp!

Until the next one!!!!!!!!
