hey all, wondering if you could help me out

i am trying to decide between 2 knives one of them is the ka-bar pot belly.

have cycled through a lot of knives, can honestly say that none have been hollow ground,is this a plus or minus in any way on the ka-bar potbelly,

impressions on this knife welcomed, thanks kabarians

ps my bad, buck knives are hollow ground arent they, i`ve tried a lot of bucks but never ended up keeping any except the skinner which i love

It's a plus. The blade is 1/4" thick, but it cuts like crazy with the hollow grind. I've never had a 7" knife that chops and bites as deep as the Potbelly does. I've beat on mine and it's come through with flying colors. There's no cutting chore that I'd be afraid to take on with it. I choke up on the grip and it handles like a smaller knife, great for detail work. With a regular or middle of the handle grip, it's quick in the hand with almost neutral balance. Choke back on the grip, and it chops like a 9" or 10" blade. I've got a Kabar Cutlass Machete with an 11" blade, 1/8" thick, hollow grind, and it barely out chops the Potbelly.

would suggest some forum searches. a few people have hammered on these and done good.

hard to beat knife, esp for the price.

handled one at cabelas today, its smaller than i thought, but its hefty, solid, well made, nice knife for sure

Ka-Bar is going wild with the series, 2 Johnsons, 2 Zombies, 2 small utilities. :)
I like their thinking, and the funky handle has a lot of possibilities. (We need more day-glo colors !!!)
