Potential Paramilitary 2 Lock Problem

I recently bought two Paramilitary 2 knives; one from a knife shop (found on the Spyderco dealer locator) and one from KnifeCenter. I carry one and have the other as a backup just in case something happens to my primary.

Ever since I bought my two knives, I noticed a distinct difference between the two identical knives - my primary gives a large amount of resistance when I disengage the lock that my secondary does not have.

When I disengage the lock on my primary, there is a small amount of resistance/pressure. After I apply a small amount of pressure, the pressure snaps and the lock suddenly disengages. If I repeatedly disengage the lock, the release becomes smoother. If I wait five minutes after that, the lock has reverted to its state of resistance.

My secondary (even though the knife hasn't been broken in) is much smoother - there's a smooth disengagement, no pressure, no sudden release of pressure.

I know this is a very minor issue but for what I payed this knife shouldn't have such a problem. Is this something I can fix at home (if so, how?) or should I contact customer support? Has anyone else experienced this with their Paramilitary 2?

Thanks!

If the lock is sticky you can try rotating the stop pin 90 degrees...if that doesn't work some pencil lead on the tang will have it sorted out in no time.

^ exactly what he said. Graphite can make it smoother, or just fiddle around with the stop pin a bit. All in all, it should wear in nicely. I wouldn't worry about it.
