Take a look at the sheaths this female knifemaker is turning out...

I like the attention to detail she paid in her "Bola" sheaths. Look at some of the tooling and inlays of some of the other models. This is wonderful stuff for our favorite khukuris! :)

Looks like she does the leather work, and he does the bladesmithing. But you're right: VERY nice work. On both.

Nice sheaths yes, for sure, but hell, look at the knives! Thanks very much for forwarding this link. That is some of the nicest custom work I have ever seen. I just e-mailed him and asked about a beautiful little push dagger he has showing. Just gorgeous. I would give anything to have the skill he has!

Regards,

Norm

Norm… Tess Neilson and her husband definitely make nice knives, and their prices are very reasonable considering the quality of materials and ultra high level of finish. I was hunting for sheaths, and came across the gems found on the website I linked. Look at all that hand tooling, hand stitching and original artwork. Talented artisans…

I have two knives by J. Neilson. One is a stocky 3/8" thick 7" blade Bowie called the Beast, and the other is a tiny letter opener called a Papoose, with a springbok horn handle. Both are very well made. The sheaths are very nice too, though mine aren't fancy. They are good people, and they make good knives.

I like the way he left the forge marks (scale?). 'Marks' isn't quite right, but I hope you know what I mean.
