Pouch attachment to Secure-Ex sheath

Has anyone come up with a method to attach a pouch to a Bushman Secure-Ex sheath? So far the only thing I came up with is using innertube bands to secure an altoids tin. It holds well but I don't feel to comfortable with that in the long run. I'm sure I could use the innertube bands to help hold a molle type pouch. Any ideas or solutions that rest of you have come up with. Pics would be great too. Thanks.

BTW does anyone know what the button type hole on the back of the belt attachment loop is for?

I think you're on the right track with the inner tube/ranger band method. I don't really see any other way to go with this particular sheath. The button hole on the sheath looks just like those found on Mora sheaths which allow you to suspend the knife from an overall button while you're working, although the Bushman seems way too heavy for that (IMHO).

I ended up using inner tube bands and managed to secure a pouch to the sheath. I want to go with a smaller pouch. I feel that a smaller pouch will put less stress on the bands when the pouch is full. The cocoon pouch is a bit overkill for this knife. Here's a pic.

And here's a pic prior to pouch. I just used bands to hold an altoid kit.

I tied on the MAXPEDITION's 1433B pouch with some 550 paracord. The fire steel protrusion provides a good anchoring point.

Altoids tin fire kit, flashlight, and two AAA batteries fit nicely inside this pouch.

Added a lanyard to the fire steel for added retention.

HondaScoot I do like that pouch size. Couple of questions for you. Does that pouch have molle webbiing on the back of it? It looks like you made some kind of finger guard coming from the handle. If so what did you use and how is the feel? I think that is very good idea. Did you cut the notch in the blade for firesteel use?

This is the smallest pouch, that I could find, that would fit the Altoids tin. Two AAA batteries in the bottom laid horizontally, then the tin, there is just enough space for the ITP A3 EOS flashlight. http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?240639-ITP-A3-EOS-amp-Maratac-AAA-Reviews-RUNTIMES-BEAMSHOTS-DETAILED-PICS-amp-more!

Maxpedition's 1433B pouch has three horizontal molle webs for attachment. http://www.maxpedition.com/store/pc/STROBE-GPS-COMPASS-POUCH-7p1022.htm

The molle webs are for the TacTie attachment that were not used. http://www.maxpedition.com/store/pc/3-TacTie-Pack-of-4-p351.htm

I ran the paracord through the molle webbing (under / over / under) instead of a TacTie placing the paracord to the outer edges. Tie it tightly to the sheath. It stays in place - Rock Solid.

The sharpening notch in the blade was added because the bevels did not match side to side. I will try it on the fire steel. Good Idea!

The handle mods - I like it. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1167683-Bushman-Mods-Adventure-Motorcycle-Camping
