What thickness is that leather? I am making one for a super tool soon - and I want to make it similar to what you have going here. Love your work.

Talfuchre, its 3 mm thick.
No really. the leather i use is fairly stiff, with nice, solid flesh side. After dyeing it is stiff enough and nothing curls up. Maybe with even sharper cornes that could be the case but here, nope.
