I'm getting an SnG in few days and I don't know whether I want the Strider Pouch, the Kydex Rig with the Tek-Lok or just rock it clipped in the pocket! Now I'm keeping in mind the fact that I already carry a cell phone on my belt and sometimes on that same side IWB style I have my Bud Nealy Amoeba. What are the pros and cons of the pouch, the Kydex rig and clipped to my pocket? This a pricey knife and I don't want to F it up other than using it! Thanks in advance...

I just ordered an SnG today as well. Good luck with yours!
Does Strider make their own pouch for this knife?

Thanks.

They make one for the AR but I don't see why it wouldn't fit. I'm debating getting the Kydex but I want to read some opinions of it. Good luck with yours too...

The SnG holds well in the kydex, but you need to watch out on the placement of the sheath. If you place it where the knife sticks out too much, you can catch it and knock it out of the sheath.

That's why I'm debating getting that, Steve. Plus I usually have other sh!t on my belt as is...f it I'll probably pick it up anyway.

Where is the other stuff? I'm right handed, and I found that having the knife on the front left side was a handy way to carry it without it getting knocked out.

Hmmm...front left...I never thought of that! My phone and Leatherman are usually on my right, so that would work out nice.

I have ARs, GBs, and SnGs... I have the SOE Gear sheath for my ARs/GBs and I love the design. The fastex buckle is great and the retention is fabulous. IMHO it's much better than pouches with snaps that can catch and open up and velcro that can peel up easily after it gets debris in the fibers.

I have two kydex rigs (one purchased and one acquired as a package deal) for the ARs/GBs and I quite honestly could live without them. The retention isn't up to my expectations and my knives have flipped out onto the ground on a couple of occasions... The design is a little too open for me. Sure it comes out easily, but I'd rather know it's there after bushwacking or falling out of a tree... I haven't yet played around with heating up the kydex to tighten it up some.

I haven't tried one for my SnGs but I would imagine the retention would be much better since it is very light compared to an AR/GB. The clip on the SnG is VERY secure (even with the smooth surface of a stonewashed version.) You almost need two hands to get it out of your front pocket, or risk a dangerous snuggie by pulling up with one hand!

I have a Livesay designed custom kydex rig for a Sere 2K that is a great balance between retention and a quick draw. I have been thinking about sending an AR to him to work another one up for me.
out,
Cris

That's one thing I'm not sure I like about my SnG.
