Powderhorn/toothpicks

I have two ... neither is a GEC, though ... or "small" ...
1970's (I think) Utica, shadow (4.375" closed, carbon steel blade) and a recent manufacture Marbles (no "MR" number) in brown stag bone (5" closed, 440A blade).
I'd guess both are in the "large" category or classification?

Nice knives. I carry them once in a while, but never paired together.

I jumped at the gec because it just looked really cool, had the wooden scales, it's a new pattern for me
And cause they caught my eye a decade or so ago but never had an opportunity to get my hands on one

But I am very pleasantly surprised with how much I like it already

I have 3 of the GEC #12s:

Stag Northfield toothpick, single blade, normal grind:

Red jigged bone Northfield toothpick, single blade, saber grind, serialized:

Copperhead bone Northfield Powderhorn jack, 2 blades:

The Powderhorn is my most often carried GEC.

Well...

I've only got the one as well 😂
But I am pleasantly surprised by how much I am liking it already

Edit
I think I said that already 😅

It's a good-sized knife that carries smaller because of the tapered handle shape, the rounded bolsters and fully sunken joint. The curved end works well with different grips, fitting into the curve of your little finger or nestled up against the palm of your hand. It's a fairly ergonomic design, really.

Always thought that style was quite attractive, this one I had back in 2013, like most of my collection I parted with this one but enjoyed it's company for a spell ;)

That's what I was trying to find, and couldn't.... except on fleabay for $300+ o_O
I used to have a blue camelbone GEC, and a wooden (chechen?) but I moved them along. I wanted a stag #12 to keep...
Instead, I found this Bulldog brand, made by GEC, for a reasonable price.... it's a #12, just branded for Bulldog.... I like it, aside from the matchstrike pull..

I've always wondered as to the purpose of this knife. I have always been on the fence with them, but do think the lines look attractive.

Fun fact - in the days of sanity with regards to acquiring GEC knives, the 12s were not one of the hot patterns, and would often remain in dealer inventory for a LONG time. You could spend weeks or months leisurely debating whether to buy one.

I got all three of mine off the Exchange forum here (or 2 of 3 at least), at a little below original dealer sale prices, if I recall correctly. One was new-in-tube [the stag-handled] - that may have come from a dealer, I don't recall for certain. One was a lightly carried user (the one I also carry and use), and the third was serialized and unused but no tube or COA. Nice bargains on carried/used and no-tubes back then.
