Powerball - anyone else use one?

My beloved bought me one of these for Christmas.
It's like gyroscope in a plastic ball - spin it up with a cord, and accelerate it by twisting your wrist [or forearm, or shoulder etc.]

Gives a really fun workout, and I was amused by the bright flashing blue lights as it accelerates [in the ball, not my eyes!]

I've been looking at these for sometime wondering whether I should buy one.

What level of workout do they provide, and do you think you'll get any benefit from it?

I've used one, got tired of it. Now there is one with a handle on it to simulate holding a bat or tennis racket. Seems pretty neat.
