I wish the History Channel would have more of this type of programming, like it used to. People should NEVER forget about these events.

Warning: graphic and disturbing.

They play plenty of those around Christmas and Easter. Wonder why?

I can recommend a very good WWII documentary , The World At War. You can buy the entire box set for under $40 ( 26 episodes).
It was made back in the early 70's and is a little dated, compared to what we are used to today.
But many veterans, from all sides were still alive back then , the interviews are fantastic.

I like my documentaries a little less dramatic, but I agree this is a really good series. It can't help but be a bit dramatic with Laurence Olivier as the narrator.

But it stays on track, is well written, and is completely entertaining. It was completely restored about 10 or so years ago and they did a great job of it. I would think that if there was a younger history buff in the house or someone that didn't crave a ton of facts along the way this would be a real winner.

Like you, I really liked the interviews. The actual words coming from the mouths of the participants really gives them a lot more meaning. Hard to think that when that series was released WWII had only been over about 25 years. That war was still very fresh on the minds of a lot of people.
