What kinda mods are out there for powerlocks?

Also, I'm having some clumping issues: I loosened the screws and used some miltec and the problem really hasn't changed...
Also, safe way to get those pesky hand guards off?

EDIT: hand guards GONE, that was freaking easy!
 
You need to put washers in between the tools to prevent clumping. If you can get brass washers that would even be better (brass has low metal to metal contactivity).
 
thanks v8, i saw the other thread and i was thinking more crazy/radical, llike anodizing and custom inscribing to make it a SOB powerlock among other crazy ideas...
