Hey guys my place of work bought 3 pwerlocks for my workmates and told me that because I set up the purchase I can have a powerlock or a pre-order for the power assist.

I have the 4 powerlock in my hands (it came just now) and Im tempted to hang onto it. I dont want to wait 2 months to get a power assist I dont think...

What would you guys do? Maybe I can break the pwerlock just in time? Just playin of course.

Sog wants $122.00 for the assist btw and Lowes has the lock for $60.00 (Sog sells the lock for $105.00) so Im thinking Ill be able to just buy an assist for way less than 122 on my own later...

What say you?

I would wait and buy it for less than 122...maybe because i'm curious about the assist as well...I have the powerlock, I want to see if SOG can keep this tank-like toughness up with the technology of powerassist. Should be interesting, keep us informed :)

I got a Powerlock EOD a few weeks ago and really like it. I'd say keep it for now, but order some of the Power Assists and see how they work before switching. Of course, you do have two hands soo... ;)

I decided to keep her. I just really wish it was black... I wonder if I dont use it if I can ship it to Sog and have them trade me for a black one.

Chris?

We can not do the exchange for you. You would have to take it back to where you bought the PowerLock for an exchange like that.

Chris?

It's been 7 days since you started this thread. How has the Power Lock been working out for you? have you used it much? I'm really liking mine.

powerlock is the best multitool I ever handle. And I don't say this easily. I'm a heating repairman and this tool is really useful but also very solid and strong. Try to cut an big electrical cable with it , after that, try with the so-called "number one" of multitools : leatherman. You will see the difference !!!
powerlock is the winner without any doubt !!!
Sadly ,SOG stopped to make their tools with black and golg tini coating .. and that's really a shame.
I hope and pray to see again this coating on their multitools in the future.

Works well. :) If I could do it over again Id have my tool done up in black but that has nothing to do with function... It would be nice if when I pulled out the knife blade everything else didnt come along for the ride but I have been forcing myself to "work" the tools in the hopes that it will break in to the point of this not being an issue. I have experimented with some different lubes too just to see if I can break the tool of its frictional affair with its neihboring tool. This has not proven fruitfull.

Suggestions anyone? Its not really a big deal lol... I do wish it was black though... :D

I would suggest adjusting the tension on the bolts at the bottom of the handles that hold the tools in. It is just a 1/4" hex head bolt. Take two wrenches and loosen them ever so slightly and that should make things better for you.

Replacement tools can be purchased directly from SOG. We do have a black blade available for the PowerLock. If you want to buy one contact our consumer services department at 888-405-6433 x240 or customercare@sogknvies.com.
