I have a black oxide Powerlock that I bought at the PX a couple weeks ago to replace a lost Leatherman Wave. I was trying to remove a sheet metal screw (I'd guess 1/8", never turned it, much less removed) from aluminum edging when the phillips driver immediately snapped in half. This was the first time I tried to use the phillips driver, and this was pretty darn light use. The tool broke at the I in PHILLIPS embossed on the shank. The break is jagged and the steel looks very coarse, one of the least clean brittle failures I've seen.
Do I have to ship the whole tool back to get the driver replaced? I have a few months left, so I don't know if SOG ships to an APO, or if they would have the repair and return shipping done in time to get back to me before I return to the states. No pics since I'm on a nipr system and taking pics, getting a blank CD, transferring the pics to a non-government PC, burn the disc, transfer pics to the nipr, and upload is a bit much.
