Hi!
Recently I bought a SOG PowerLock to replace a LM Wave that was stolen from my truck when it was in the shop:grumpy:
Anyways, the PowerLock is one beefy tool! That is why I was so suprised when one of the jaws broke clean off beneath the wire cutter when I was using it.
I didnt save the clamwrap package it came in, so I don't really know what to do concerning the warranty. I really like this tool, but I need to find out how to get it fixed.
Any help would be great!
Thanks,
Kevin

 I've never seen or even heared of that happening. Call SOG at 1-888-SOG-BEST. They can give you instructions on how to return the broken tool.

Yup, call the number, they'll take care of you.:D

Hey K man, how did things go with getting your PowerLock taken care of?

I called 1-888-SOG-BEST and I got the message "Thank you for calling the National Credit Counsling Services" Weird

So then I called 1-800-555-1212 and asked for the number for SOG Specialty Knives. The operator said nothing matched the search.

If anybody is curious as to how it broke, here is the story-
My friend was backing out of his driveway and accidentaly kept on going into a freshly plowed pile of hard, icy snow (gotta love Michigan.) We got out of the car to check for damage and discovered that the end of the muffler was bent over itself, forming a crease. I tried bending it back with my brand new powerlock (this was the first time I used the pliers for anything hard) and all of a sudden the pliers lost their grip and I almost fell on my a**. I thought that I had ripped a chunk of metal from the thin muffler, but when I looked down and saw a jaw of the powerlock lying on the ground, I was shocked. I figure that I either had a sudden burst of superhuman strength (unlikley considering my tall and skinny build) or there was a flaw in the tool.

Why isnt the number working for me?
Thanks,
Kevin

The contact link for SOG Warranty is here .

The 888 # doesn't work from Canada...:( but did you perhaps accidentally dial 1-800 instead of 1-888? The number is 1-888-SOG-BEST (1-888-764-2378)...

Drop me an e-mail if you still have problems, and I'll have SOG get in touch with you.

Let me know!
Regards,
Rob

Bobby,
It's my bet that he DID dial "1-800", rather than "1-888"...After-all, he DOES own a PowerLock, even if it IS busted.:D.:D.

Thanks for the replys!
I am sure that I dialed 1-888 because I remember having to mentally tell myself to dial the 888 instead of 800. I went to the SOG website and did shoot the Warranty Dept. an email.
Thanks for all the help!

Keep us posted!:D

Yeah what's the latest.

My call would be that something was shoddy with the tool, even places with good quality control, like Sog, have some things fall through the cracks (people make mistakes).

I hope that Sog fix everything up for you, my experience with their customer service has been top notch, so I hope they sort everything out.

If I told you how much I abuse my PowerLock, Sog would stop selling to me:D :D :D

Good luck keep us posted.
