Anyone else go to powwows? In the MD/DE/PA region, many of the local powwows were cancelled several years ago. Some have come back, and are better than before. I enjoy seeing old friends, vendors and dancers. I've made some good friends, gotten some great crafts, and even traded into a Terry Baublitz Hudson Bay camp knife! There isn't much that can be compared to the opening dance of the powwow; when they invite all of the veterans, LEO, firefighters, EMT's and serving military to dance. Not only can you buy many different crafts, you can also learn something. Also, I shouldn't have it, but fry bread topped with fresh strawberries, and frybread topped with beans and ground buffalo meat is great. I can have venison stew any time of the year, but it is great at powwows also.
There are several powwows this year in DE, MD and PA. These are just the ones close to me. If you know of any more that are in the MD/DE/PA area, or if you want to post ones that you are going to, please let us know. I'm going to try my best to make my way to all of them.
