Practical mods for bk2 blade

Finally got my bk2 in about a week ago and am loving it. I havent been able to really get it out there in the woods like I'd like to due to work but I've put some work in with it getting wood for a few fires. The blade has held up nicely without a scratch on it (I've heard and seen a lot about the finish coming off) so who knows when/if this will happen. The texture of the coating isnt my favorite but I've yet to see the friction problem its supposed to cause.
Anyway my question is pretty much all in the title, but what is the most practical mod I can do for the blade? In terms of efficiency and longevity

Some options I've read about but am not sure of their practicality:
-A simple removal of the coating and possibly some sanding of the blade to get some scratches
-Coating removal and a forced patina with something acidic (not a fan aesthetically)
-Coating removal and a bluing
---Probably a few others or maybe a combination of these?

I've seen a picture or 2 of beautifully mirror polished bk2's and kinda fell in love, but I am unsure if that is just going to get banged up and need too much upkeep as I do plan to use this knife heavily or if its something that will be beneficial.

Whatever it may be I'd appreciate the help and recommendations

Square the spine (if you use a fire steel). Stipple the scales (if you want, it's a personal preference). Strip it, either now or when it's beat. Step 4. Beat like a red headed step child. Have fun!
