In the back of the Balisong Manual there are some PC balis with the about an inch of the tip cut off. Have you guys seen any of these of late. It would be great to have on for work.

In the back of the Advanced Balisong Manual they mention some similiar to those. They were those that didn't meet Pacific Cutlery's high standards. They were engraved with a "2" on them so that people couldn't return them for warranty work, since the tips were taken off and the edge flattened.Usually,P.C. would've given the owner of a knife a new one if it had been damaged this much...therefore the "2" was put on them.
They were sold for a while as practice knives, but P.C. finally discontinued them.

I don't think you can...unless someone else has some similiar to those.Since they were discontinued by P.C. back in the 80's,your chances are slim on finding any.
Who knows, one of the other makers of balisongs might have started doing the same thing...but I kinda doubt it.

I&I Sports (use the search engine, Luke) has a training balisong. But, if you're after a trainer for manipulation, why bother? Just use black electrical tape to cover the edge and tip of your regular balisong. The trainers are for knife sparring.

You could also just get a cheapie and blunt the edge & tip...it'll do the same job.
I usually have students buy a cheapie to begin with for several reasons.
#1 If a cheapie takes damage,it's better than an expensive balisong taking the damage.
#2 They don't have to worry about taping the blade as much, since cheapies can be dulled easily.
#3 If they decide that learning the art of the balisong isn't for them, they're not out much in the way of money.
#4 It's cheaper to buy a new cheapie if the first one gets badly damaged or falls apart before the person is ready to move on to a more expensive blade.

IMHO an original practice bali from PC would be too vauble to practice with!

I've never seen one offered or even talked about except in Imada's Advanced Balisong manual. Get a cheapie, dull the edge, round the tip, and start practicing those aerials!!!

Thanks for the info, but my boss and co-workers would prefer a tipless knife. I'll check out the one Gollnick suggested. Peace
