So tonight I ordered my BK14! Thanks for everyone on the advice on the 14 and 13. I'm still planning on getting the 13, but I'm trying to only buy one knife at a time right now, and I might hold the spare funds for the 16 and push back the 13 a little bit longer (Birthday in June...).
Well, my 14 won't get here until Wednesday or Thursday but I know I want to strip and patina it, but I've heard for first mods it's wise to practice on a knife you don't care as much about, so I decided to practice tonight on an old Mora that has been sitting in my tool drawer for a year or so. I've read lots of different things people have used to patina their knives on these forums so I thought I'd try a random mixture; mango, yellow mustard, black pepper, and rice vinegar. We'll see how it turns out.
P.S. Noob question; Will the patina on the Mora vary a lot from what I'd get on the Eskabar as the Mora is Carbon Steel VS. 1095 on the Eskabar? Not sure if this has a big impact on the result of the patina.

Sorry for pic quality don't have a good camera or lighting available. I will update with a couple after pictures for ya'll. Should only need another hour or so.
