Greetings everyone,
I have undergone a period of spiritual confinement due to personal reasons that I will keep to myself.
It has been enriching, since we are basically spiritual beings trapped inside a body.
After some days of spiritual cleansing, I took my swords out and used a series of cardboard tubes for cutting. I have different katanas with different weights and tsuka (handle lenghts) varying from 10.5 inches to 13 inches. I did aim not only to cut, but to cut small pieces from the tube's edge, and I did manage to cut eight times before the large all diameter cut.
I haven't cut for a long time, and like always happens to me, when I take something that I have not touched for sometime, there was more awareness and concentration.
To make a long story into a conclusion. You cut with your mind. But a good sword really helps and this is was not cutting wara or goza, but cardboard tubes 20 inches long.
Though a 28 or 28.5 inches sword provides a better swing, I still like to cut with a shorter, 26 inches sword because you have a more intimate contact with the sword and the target. Cutting alone in total silence has very therapeutic results.
Now I'm looking forward for the Kumar Everest Katana. I promise to post some pictures as soon as I cut with it.
I wish you all a wonderful and peaceful weekend. I will be going back to my own self for the time being.
Special good wishes to Uncle Bill
