I was driving around my area where I live and hunt and the farms look real bad. My hearts goes out to our local farmers who have a tough time making a living farming as it is. The hay fields look real bad as do the corn crop. Soybeans fields too. My buddy where I hunt has a 300 acre farm and the place looks burned up.
So to all the hard working farmers who are in this dry situation not only in Maryland but anywhere else in the country, I pray for rain.

I hear you mate. Australia just pulled through the worst draught in living memory that went for more than a decade. Melbourne's water storage is still down to 33% capacity.

Exactly. There are 10 year old kids in this country who have NEVER seen rain, except maybe on TV.

I can sympathise with your farmers over there who might be used to getting a reasonably regular rainfall. An extended drought is a truly terrible thing to experience, whole rural towns can verge on dying out. Farmers spend much of their day shooting stock because there is no water for them.

Here's hoping for rain, for whoever needs it.

.

I would be glad to share you some of our cold wet summers, and this yet another soggy one. Weather patterns have really changed in the past 5 years, as we used to get good hot summers, but no longer, I'd be glad to send you some rain and cold for some some of your heat

In the meantime I will use the woodstove.

Scott, I drove past your shop last evening (wheres the sign man?), and when I came through Fawn Grove, it was a torrential downpour. By the time I got to Caves RD, it was a drizzle (a span of about ten minutes for those who don't know). We're supposed to get some more spotty rain today.

Sorry to hear of your drought in Austrailia mates. That's horrific.
SHS, the little bit of rain we've been getting is short and drys right up. We need a good soaker.
Bufford, send it down along with some of that Canadian cool air. Been hot as hell here for the last 2 weeks. Heat index yesterday over 100.

Scott wish I could send some your way. Today is the 4th consecutive day of rain up here.Seems like all of our summers are more wet than hot.Definetly sweatshirt weather after dark.

Great day to sit inside of an Astro van, and take a headliner out, or try to, outside, on the blacktop in the Bel Air commercial park. After an hour, I was done. :barf:

I could've come through the phone when I was told, "Oh, yeah, the van has air conditioning. You didn't know?" :foot::o My dumb ass didn't try it.

Not the way I want to lose weight.

It's supposed to be 80 degrees in Baltimore Wednesday , that translates to about 75 at your shop.

Well running dry is a possibility this year.

Its cleared up for now, and tonights forecast low is going to be only +2 C. I'll trade you all for some of the warmth over there. For now I will go get a hot cup of coffee.

Thank you for that. It is really dry and I always worry about my well and water table.

Scott, I'm not a church goer anymore, but I believe in God. From what we got Saturday and Monday, everyone must've been praying like crazy! Going down the mountain on 10 on the way to Cabelas in a torrential downpour, was interesting ;).

Yes, we got two inches yesterday in that downpour. Alot overnite too. Calling for more today and tomorrow.
Scott

I know what you mean... same situation up here in South West PA. Prayers sent and received.
