Hey all,

My wife was recently diagnosed with cancer. After losing my dad to it last year... I'm still not right so the thought of losing her is more than I can bear.
She's prepared to fight and doesn't want to not be here for me and our awesome 6 year old boy but I know the power of prayer and she and I could certainly use some.
I haven't been to church in too long but still believe in God and figure that the support and prayer I'll find here is darn close if not better than some churches ive been to anyhow.
Her name is Andrea.

I really like this place and consider many folks here familiar friends even if they don't know it or feel the same.
I have trouble "making friends" in my adult life and all this has made me even more stoic so I appreciate any support you guys can give a seemingly disinterested fellow forumite.

Thanks,
Joshua

Smoke and prayers goin' up and out for your wife, your boy and yourself. I agree with you about the power of prayer and these folks here are a force unto themselves. Post this in the Semi Official Injury and Ailment Thread. A lot of members check in there and I've seen a lot of good things come out of that thread and these folks offer up some tremendous support. I've spent countless hours while sittin' in hospital waiting rooms on BF gettin' advice and comfort.

I hope and pray for the best for your wife and family and like I said check out the thread sometimes you just need to talk to someone at 3am, you'll always find someone awake with an ear to bend.

I'm heading on over there now.
Thanks for the heads up and the prayers.

My prayers for you and your lovely wife Andrea. I hope she recovers fully and can live a happy life with you and your boy. I haven't been in church very much lately either, but I figure God knows me pretty well, and HIS demands are pretty clear-cut.
You know, I have many more friends here on the forum than off the forum, and I suppose I might have too many expectations for neighbor-folks to qualify as my "friend." But I read something once...that said, in effect..."if you're waiting for an acquaintance to be perfect BEFORE you would call him your friend...
then your friends will surely be few in number.

Will definately keep your wife and family in our prayers ... our family is dealing with a similiar situation ... God Bless and prayers for a speedy recovery.

My dad always used to tell me that. He'd be great to talk to right about now.

Prayers sent for you and your family.
Always remember, going to church doesn’t make you a stronger believer, any more than standing in a garage makes you a car.

Praying for your family Neko. Cancer absolutely sucks. Don’t give up.

I will pray for you and your wife.

Lord Jesus thank you for this day and thank you for all your blessings. Tonight Lord i ask for prayers for Andrea and Joshua and their precious son. Lord I pray for healing for Andrea and strength for Joshua. Lord I do not know these people personally but I know that YOU do and that is all that matters. Lord shower them with love and healing. In your name I pray. AMEN
