Folks:

Mr. Ecevit is the Prime Minister of Turkey. He was one of the first to call Mr. Bush to offer condolences for 9/11. And, he was one of the first to offer concrete military assistance for our efforts in Afghanistan.

He has been in the hospital the last week, and may not make it out.

A truly great man, he will be sadly missed and fondly remembered.
I will keep him and his family in my heart and in my prayers.
