Prayers for Bura

Bura is ill. He declined recently, his health not great but having leveled off from the damage done by the stroke. We need to pray for this fine old man to continue and guide the shop. He is training a few Kamis, one in particular Yangdu knows is Vim. He signed his intials on at least one item, and used Bura's half moon crest when he did so. That does not mean if you have a blade marked Bura it is made by Vim. Vim signed his blades.

Bura has been our good guy Kami for a long time. His work is wonderful. If you submitted a blue print sketch to a patent office of what a 'khuk' was, it would be a Bura drawing.

Yangdu couldn't say. He's old. Not a spring chicken, she said. They decline. His legacy is in the work, the work attitude in the shop, and the men he has trained. His blades are with us.

The first Bura and I think my only pre-stroke blade by him was a gift from my friend and brother, Raghorn. 16.5" Chiruwa AK. Rag got two Chiruwas because an anomally in the universe occurred: he broke one, and Bill Martino insisted he get two in return. He gave the one with a perfect but too small handle to me. I'm an average size, and the handle though small, was still within my range. That blade has been carried miles across the prarrie and woods. It has scars on it from all kinds of chopping and token taking. The frog to the rig is handmade by Pappy, which tells you how special the Bura blade is to me.
