Prayers for my Buddy

So I'm not usually one to do this, but then again I've never been in this situation. Here's the story.

About a month and a half ago, my dog Max was attacked by a raccoon. He ended up with a severe blood infection and a large abscess. We took him to the vet, and they ran some blood work and drained the abscess. After a few weeks, besides being a bit anemic and skinny he seemed to be on the road to recovery.

Fast forward to today, he was sneezing blood so we took him to the vet again. When we go there we were told that the results of his most recent blood test had come in. They told us that he likely has leukaemia and only has a few weeks to live.

He's an 8 year old terrier, beagle, lab cross (Mut for short) and is one of my best friends. For anyone who took the time to read this, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I'll post some pics when I get home, tapatalk won't let me.

Can't wish you more than that you are able to keep your buddy, Max, by your side. My best. They are among our treasures in life.

Thank you taldesta.

Here's a picture of my buddy.

I couldn't find any older pictures, so sadly I only have this recent one. He isn't doing so hot.

I wish you and Max the best ... they can truely be mans best friend. Prayers for you and Max.

You and Your Buddy are in my thoughts and prayers.
I hope You remember all the good times with Max to help get You through the weeks and months ahead.

I feel for you - my advice is to do your best to focus on the good times and on giving back all the trust, love, companionship he has given you for all these years. That was the easiest way for me to cope with the situation when I lost my 8 year old hound to leukemia a few years back. It was a rude shock, and is always a drag when these things happen.

That's terrible news to hear. Our pets become part of the family, and we don't like to think about losing them.

He is your baby! Always will be...... He knows you and your heart, we can be sure of that!! My prayers this morning for him

Sorry to read this. I hope he will not suffer, and will be able to remain with you as long as possible.

Sending prayers...

I'm very sorry to hear that. I am sending best wishes. Spend as much time with him as you can. You are his whole life and nothing makes a dog happier than just being with his master. When the time comes, go with him and hold him as he starts his next journey.

Thoughts sent, man. Spend time with him and try to make his final days as nice as possible.

My dog is my best friend too.

Thank a lot everyone!

Here's some more pictures, he looks a lot better in these.

It's always sad to lose a best buddy that had always been there for you, hang in there pal, I believe he will make a full recovery, prayers sent

Remember to appreciate the time you have with those you love. That's a fine pal you have there, he's as lucky to have had you in his life as you are to have had him in yours.
