Prayers for my daughter

This is probably unnessary, but my littlest daughter Sophie went to the ER tonight. She fell and hit her head earlier in the day then threw up a few times later on (she'd also been crying alot which often causes her to swallow huge amounts of air, and then vomit even when she hasn't hit her head)... She's been checked out by the docs and everything seems to be ok, but we'll have to keep an eye on her through the night.

Prayers would be very much appreciated.

Thank you very much!

Rob

Rob, it does sound ok but prayers are always good.

When I was her age (?) I jumped out of a moving truck, landed on my head and was knocked out for five minutes. I had a significant head injury in the sense I was not allowed to ride my new Christmas bike for 6 months. I had headaches. Today they have MRI's and I bet the worse is ruled out in your daughter's case.

That's a hard one, you always have to stay up and watch them when that happens.. I hope that everything is OK, and you have my prayers with you.

Always scary when the little ones are hurt.

Best wishes.

(I will NOT say: "Look at Munk. HE turned out OK.")

Rob?

Of course you have them, but keep in mind, kids are made out of gum-rubber.

My younger daughter made it a point to go to ER on a bi-monthly basis, to the point where she knew where they kept the drawer of lollipops and the (ew) stainless steel tub under the table for icky parts.

An unfortunate combination of Genghis Khan enthusiasm and Sad Sack coordination. She went on to get a soccer scholarship for college.

They do this because of the "parent's curse" that YOUR parents made:

"I hope you have a child JUST like you."

awful thing. :D

Done! I always hate too hear about bad things happening too kids.:(

Thanks everyone. prayers and anecdotes appreciated in equal measure!! The former helps Sophie and the latter is good medicine for me :)

My brother took a header off of my parents stone wall/embankment--a good 6+ feet off the ground and landed on his head. Scared my parents to death. His kids are already paying him back. As are mine :o

(I wish I could blame a single head trauma as the cause; but I'm just weird. )

This thread is bringing back memories of childhood alright.

I don't think I was a very active child, but I remember lots of trips to the ER.

I'm sure you'll take the best possible care of your little jewel, Rob.

done, seems like a mild concussion (commotio cerebri). They don't take risk with children so if they suspected any danger they would have kept her. My daughters keeps breaking her ankle, the ligaments snap off very easy, she has that from me (genetics?). Funny part was that when i went to the E.R. when i was young they always found traces of former injuries, like healed broken bones, scars and stuff. They where always amased. I always explained that i remembered pain , but that it went away after a few days. I must have had a high pain tolerance. :D

When my son was 2 he opened the drawers to his dresser and preceded to climb up. The dresser fell on top of him. Of course I freaked out and took him to the doctors. They basically told me as long as his eyes were not dilated and he was not throwing up they were not that concerned. Still scary though.
