Prayers, smoke and good thoughts requested. Last week, my 15 year old lab pup Beau passed away. He was a good pup and I miss him a lot. Yesterday, my great aunt passed away. We called my grandmother nana, and called my great aunt Aunt Nan. My grandmother was the oldest of about 7 sisters, and my aunt Nan was the most like my grandmother. I love all of my great aunts, but I am closest to my aunt Nan. A friend of mine from work is going into surgery today, a simple surgery but there are complications for her with her diabetes. It hits home with me because of my own struggles with diabetes.

It has been a tough week with the passing of my pup and my great aunt. Both had a good long run, and there are many family members in the hereafter celebrating with her. Boilo, blinis, polka etc. I'd like to think my pup escorted her. She gets to see her husband again, and my pup gets to see my grandmother, she was very close to him, and his buddy Gus, whom he idolized but Gus wanted to eat him. Gus was a golden retriever, and even though I know dogs are colorblind, Beau would go crazy every time he saw a golden. I'm probably anthropomorphisising (sic), but it seems like he thought every golden was Gus.

Everybody in my family tells me I'm so close to my great aunt because she made some kick butt Oreo balls. Yeah I like those, but while my grandmother was quiet and introspective, and my great aunt, while not boisterous like some of my great aunts, was much more gregarious, I still think she was quite like my grandmother. i have a few distant memories of old family parties, weddings, funerals. Our last family reunion was almost 20 years ago, in the small town of Shenandoah PA. It has been my dream to hold a big family reunion when I get a house. All the Lithuanians and Irish from both sides, with a bit of Czech Austrians, Blackfoot, Polish, Scottish tossed in for good measure.

I believe when we transform from physical to non physical, we are pure positive energy. There is a instant dumping of all fears, traumas, and anything else negative. Just a feeling of pure love. I believe we are eternal beings and we never die just transform. Sending pure positive energy, smoke and prayers.

Up with the smoke and prayers..

Lifted you up in prayer.

So sorry for your loss of Beau and Aunt Nan ... the thought of them sharing the journey must be comforting. The old ones are our treasures. Please be as good to yourself as they would wish for you.

Stay strong. These times are always awful. Try to keep busy and try to focus on the great memories. It doesn't always work, but those shining rays of memory help get you through the dark days.

I was surprised to see my buddy when I got to work today, her surgery was rescheduled for Monday. Thank you all for prayers and good thoughts.

May God be with you, Beau, and your Aunt Nan. May your friend's surgery go well, and may God hold her in the palm of His hand.

Prayres and condolences to you and yours.

Captain O
