pre-ban mag Identification

I learned how to tell the difference between the generations of Glock magazines.

Can anyone here describe the identifying attributes that separate the pre-ban from the post-ban construction of the following magazines:

Beretta 92
Colt AR 15

Or maybe a better question is, which magazines lend themselves to conclusive ban-status identification other than the Glock mags?

In a nutshell, AR and Beretta mags built during the ban years will be stamped with the date as well as "for milititary/ law enforcement use only"

I am not at home right now to post a pic, or even to verify the HK416 mag I have.

Of course being in a "free-state" we never worried about that during the ban, much less after :)

I am in a Ban state, so just the LE marks are not enough. Regular capacity mags are being produced now without the LE mark and are a big no-no.

I know, it sucks. What sucks even more is that you have to debate with them as to the legality of the mag to even use them at the range.

The glock mags, by comparison are easy to identify. In fact, the cops have a manual on identifying the differences between pre-ban, during the ban, and after the federal ban was lifted.

Only thing is, we normal citizens don't have access to their rule book.
