Hello Members
i'm new to forum, i'm collecting for the past 2 years. :)
on verge of closing an order, and before i do i would like to consider members
recommendation for a knife in the of 50-100$ range.

fyi: i wont be carrying or using it, its more for play with & for my collection.
got my eye on CRKT Eraser / Kershaw Speed form II (the TI is no where to be found)
(personally spyderco is not my taste, no disrespect intended.)

in my collection: endura 4 ffg, ZT 0200, first production CRKT Ripple , and a kershaw scamp which is my fav' play with knife. :D
now getting: a Boker Epicenter Gen2, Buck Vantage Force Pro S30V, Ontario Rat Model 1 Folder & maybe a CRKT Easer.

your recommendations will be appreciated, thanks

I believe you might be able to find a Benchmade Mini-grip under or near 100$.

It's a great little knife and the full sized isn't that much more expensive.
And if you did end up using the knife, you would have no problem, since it's a very well made knife.

You can get a Mcusta MC-14 for under $100 right now. Cocobolo scales and VG-10 blade. Awesome knife. There are other models as well..the MC-1 with black micarta scales, MC-13 with ebony scales. All excellent knives - I own one (cocobolo) and have two to give as christmas gifts on the way.

I just realised Mcusta is very underrated!

The Kershaw Knockout looks like a sweet knife for the price. Heck I might even get one myself :D

Welcome to the Forums, Panta! My favourite Kershaw to date is the humble US-made Zing, designed by RJ Martin. They are discontinued now but I do believe you can still find 'em fairly easily on the big internet sales sites for less than $40.

Good luck! :)

From what I hear, the Speedform II is kind of an odd duck and one is advised to try one out before purchase. I was looking at one myself because it's ELMAX and it's an interesting design with an appealingly unusual but not impractical blade shape, but I heard that the ergonomics and action are strange and might not suit everyone.

Still, if you're just collecting it and not carrying it, then by all means grab one and put up a review!

Hello, thank you all for your nice suggestions:thumbup:

I love Kershaw, but looking for something more special, same with the Mini-grip.
T.L. iv'e found an interesting Mcusta Brown Stingray in my range, and stumbled on a
Benchmade Bone Collector Walnut D2 tool steel.

Mcusta seems more special/unique - Bone Collector very visually appealing with steel i don't have yet..
maybe 3RD suggestion - to help me decide?

Thanks

This^ I just got a knockout and it is amazing for the price. I used to own a sebenza and I'm not missing it at all. :D

For $105 USD, you can get the Spyderco Sage 3 Carbon Fiber from the 2nd longest river in the world dot com.

Or how about a balisong like the Bradley Kimura. Those are fun to play with.

apologies UpChUcK, the bone collector & Mcusta are fine examples
and they are not so main stream in as kershaw or spyderco, are bread & butter :)
especially Mcusta, i'm open for any other suggestions if you can help me?

No apologies needed. I'm just razzin' ya. :p

There are a couple Mcusta folders that have piqued my interest lately. That would certainly not be considered mainstream (Benchmade, Kershaw, Spyderco).

Check out the CRKT Ken Onion Ripple and Eros. Both have the IKBS bearing pivot and Acuto+ steel. The Eros is a 6AL4V titanium frame lock. I had the Ripple and really liked it. I did sell it though cuz I needed money. I may get it again though. The Eros is ~$124 and the Ripple is ~$75.

I'm not sure if you consider Buck to be mainstream or not. But the Vantage Pro has S30V for $50 and the Vantage Force Pro is ~$80 w/ S30V. And the Paradigm Pro is an assisted S30V folder for $110. THe Avid version w/ 13C26 is ~$90.

now your talking :)
I own a ripple first production, in fact thats the knife that got me in the hobby.
in the mail is an Buck Vantage Force Pro Black& Blue handle S30V.
i do like the Eros but i think i would get something else, something different.
thanks for suggestions.

Benchmade 707, no discussion!

i looked it up, at that price the unusual bone collector wooden handle looks & price
is more appealing for me.

i find Benchmade a-bit expansive, thats why the surprised at wooden handle in a reasonable price for wood + D2.
(which is odd mix by itself)
