Before I list it in the sale forum, I wondering if there's anyone who might be interested in the 119 "Factory Experimental" Prototype. If there's no interest, I'll not bother. Thanks for the feedback.

Here it is guys.

Buck 119 Special Prototype Knife. It is 1 of 625 and comes with a C.O.A. signed by the late Chuck Buck. They were experimenting with a new handle process that was not adopted. The blade is etched and signed by Chuck Buck. The knife was sold as a collectable only, not intended to be used for cutting

I just ried to list it. It keeps telling me the file is too big. As soon as I can resize the pictures, I'll list it.

pretty neat. what is the handle difference? shape or type of material used? interesting the buck letter states its not suitable as a cutting tool only a collectible. neat piece of history. thanks for sharing with us Sir.

The aluminum part was cast and the black was molded. The handle suffered from a splitting issue. There used to be someone trying to sell some of the knives after the casting and before the molding. From what I understand, it's difficult to find them anymore. If the handle splits and you send it back, they'll replace it with a regular 119.

It's an unusual and unique knife. But, as much effort as has gone into this thread, I think it would be best to show photos of the knife to the Buck forum for regular discussions, or just go to the Buck sale area and put it up for sale with some photos and description. You may be decently trying to discuss it but a tread "about" selling a knife starts to look like marketing at some point.. You will just have to give it a try and put a price on it and see what gives on the sale forum. Enough sale talk has occurred on regular forum. 300Bucks

I've tried to post the pictures but for some reason keep getting an error message saying the file is too big. I will post them as soon as I resize them. Here is the error I keep getting. It is a picture of the C.O.A.

I will try one more time to list it tomorrow at work. If I get the error again then I'll figure out how to lock the thread and drop it.
