Hi folks,
two my saya for two Kiyomistu knives, a good solution for two precious knives
I made them in Rosewood with a stripe in Black Ebony. Pin is again in Black Ebony but with a thin maple stripe.
Knive's handle it's also Rosewood but I didn't found the same color, mine is more purple... I add on request of my guest a monogram on both saya and handle.

Enjoy the pictures

Nice! Would a softer wood not work better for the middle section?

I suit the saya on the blade pretty well, and the pin secure it and do not allow the edge to impact the hard wood. It request just a little care when you insert the knife in the sheath. I put the ebony 'cause color black that recall the black ox in the handle.
I'm thninking on a version that have a little magnet in the spine for secure the tip (for longer knives) and another with a leather protection for the edge inside the saya, but untill now I never had a damage to the edge because the saya.

Ok, that makes sense. I haven't made one yet, but I've been looking into them and most people say use a softer wood. The ebony does look great though. Getting it to fit right, would take care of that problem though. Once again, great work!
