Taking a page from Jack Black's excellent "The Knife of 2014" thread, I present to you "Predictions: The Knife of 2015".

What do you predict will be your most carried Traditional knife this year and why? In my case, it will be just like my 2014 carry, complete with Antique Yellow and long-pull clip, barehead, but with the addition of a Crown Lifter/screwdriver. I will be eager to check back in December and see whether this prediction plays out.

Here it is after 2-1/2 months of use, but no food prep yet:

Here is Jack's original thread: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1248497-The-Knife-of-2014?highlight=knife+of+2014

I haven't bought many knives this year due to some $$$ shortcomings, but these two will definitely be in the running-- both are terrific.

For me...it'll be the black Pioneer at the top. It's not expensive, it'll always be handy while fishing, hiking, camping, and riding motorcycles. It's stainless, lightweight and packs a lot of utility in the same size frame as most other slim jacks. Everyone should have one!

Apparently it might be this one. I keep telling myself I only carry it to use and loosen the very stiff blade lock release ... that's what I keep telling myself

This has been in my pocket for a couple of years, I can't see that changing. I drop a second or third in once in a while for companionship.:D

Best regards

Robin

black mamba I love to see people make the knife their "own". Trapper looks great! So does that amazing damascus.

Jsega51 If I were travelling the world, I'd want that Pioneer in Red because it looks safe. If I were on a motorcycle, I'd want it in Black because black looks "less safe". lol Love the three variations below, especially the middle one with the hollow rivet.

silenthunterstudios Cannot argue with gifts from Carl or Duane.

BrotherJim I've heard great things about Mercators!

Pipeman Can't argue with perfection, nor improve upon it (unless you count well-earned patina as improvement, and then you can improve upon it! lol).

Pretty much the same as what I EDC now. Rough Rider large sunfish, a two blade Rough Rider Barlow, and a Uncle Henry LB7. Although ... I did just order a Buck 389 and a Colt canoe with carbon steel blades, so there might be a change. Too early to tell.

It's looking like this one so far... going to take one hell of a knife to knock this one off.

Nice idea Robb  I have to say that Charlie's Radio Jack still has a lot of sway over me, and I have to resist hard not to slip it in my pocket every single day. My RJ aside, the knife with sway is this Arthur Wright Lambsfoot in ebony, I like it a lot :)

afishhunter: I've never tried a sunfish, do you use it differently than other pattern/blade shapes? That's great about Colt and carbon steel blades, I didn't know that.

tstaut I have its identical twin in sheepfoot, and its fraternal twin in spear--both in Redbone and I know what you mean! GEC is doing a fantastic job with their red dye!

arizonaranchman It's great that we live in a cutlery era when we can have high-quality Barlows in different sizes. Choice is a great thing and Charlie and Mike are both spoiling us and setting a very high bar for others.

Jack Black I've long known you're a real ebony aficionado. I would love to see Charlie put a Lambfoot on a TC Barlow. The Lambfoot would give it an English twist. Ebony + Lambfoot + Charlow = BIG WIN!

Baldy McBaldersGreat figured wood on that 42. I think I might like that blade shape even better than my 73.

Out of all of my traditionals, there are two that are far and away carried the most: northwoods canoe and boker congress. It will be a close race between those for the most carried traditional of the year for me!

I predict that I'll have one of these in my pocket every day this year. I'll have many other knives in a rotation for carry, but either the silver Electrician or the black Pioneer will be a given, with the Electrician being my current favorite. I'm not counting a Vic Classic that's ever-present.
