Preference: gold versus silver thumb lugs

I'd like to get a nice wood inlay small sebbie, but as a personal preference I don't like the gold thumb lugs and stand-off that come standard. A plain silver/polished lug would be preferred.

Is my best bet to order one direct from CRK? Has anybody seen one for sale at a dealer in this configuration?

I just checked Ebay, Nothing with wood & silver, There is a small Classic with double thumb studs in silver but it micarta & used. Most all are gold or blue,
You may wanta just order it. If You order it, I would get double thumb studs.
I EDC a small Classic with double thumb studs & love it. Any knife from here on out that I order will have double thumb studs. Just my 2 cents..............

Off topic, but hey, it's my thread...

Rickster, why double lugs? I ask because the seb must be carried right handed and closed right handed. You carry lefty sometimes?

Sometimes at home I pick it up with my left hand and can open it right up, I also like the way it looks, And it adds resale value to the knife, If Im working with my right hand I can still open the knife.

To add to my buddy Rick's comments, if your dominant hand is messed up -- sprained thumb and the like -- double thumb lugs are most excellent.

To get a wood inlay with silver thumb studs, your best bet would be to order directly from CRK. Some dealers have special runs, like TNK that have wood inlays with silver, but their shipping is on the high side. I would order from CRK, they will take a pic of the knife for you and email it to you to decide.

I agree with "RICKSTER" 100%. Double thumb studs all the way. They do look better I think. Plus if your injured, like "Fooj" said, even a cut finger may make it difficult to open, so you can open it lefty. Also if your holding something in place with yout right hand and need to open your knife, you can open it lefty as well. This would apply also if your a lefty and need to open it righty. They are well worth the $35.00.

I prefer silver (or blue) also; that was the detail that made me jump on this large mammoth/damascus 21 I saw for sale at an online dealer:

I haven't seen a silver stud with that blade/inlay in stock anywhere else but I'm sure you can order one. Good luck!

Wow! Really nice mammoth bark is getting very hard to find! Nice acquisition!

I like the silver ones best, but we all know that red would suit me best :D  :p

Thanks everyone... Looks like direct is the best option.

That mammoth is um, well, just.. purty :-)

wow, that's a beatiful mammoth bark. I think I drooled over it too online... almost hit the buy button too :) was it at myknifedealer.com?

no prefs on the thumbstuds for me, though I like the assymetry that comes with a single stud
