I didn't have much luck in the general Blade Discussion Forum, so I thought I'd try this here and with the idea of getting some makers' opinions:
I've been giving my Stellite 6K TNT just the occasional strop on cardboard and after five months of regular use, the knife was still pretty sharp (not really shaving). However, the other night I was trimming some cut flowers for my wife and got just about nowhere on a thick, woody, stem (cranberry, I think). I think the edge was just too polished. So, afterwords, I gave the edge just a couple of light strokes with a DMT fine diamond hone. Now, the edge is nice and grabby (shaves again, too).
So, I was wondering what sort of edge you prefer to put on a Stellite/Talonite blade?
Thanks.
