I've been using the same HandAmerican strop for the past few years now. I've been pleased with the results, but I wonder if I should get a bigger strop. The one I have is 8" X 1.75" IIRC. I'm looking into getting one 10" X 2.5". What size strops do you guys use?

i use a couple of custom ones by mr2blue that are 10 1/2"--a perfect size--

i would contact mr2blue he sells them in sets of large(14'' by 2'') and small 10''by 2''. Great guy to work with just ordered some yesterday

My big strop is 2 1/2" x 14". I have smaller ones but prefer the larger size.

The one I use most is a 10x2 for folders, For my FB I use a larger one 15x4 I think

I made one for myself today that's 2.5" x 12". And I've been using sort of a 'pocketable' strop, made from a 1.5" x 5.5" piece of red oak (1/4" thick), with green compound on leather. It's small enough to hold in one hand (thumb at one end and middle & ring finger at the other end) and strop my smaller and medium folders while watching TV or whatever. Actually, I've found it's relatively easy to use with somewhat larger blades, too (up to 4" or so).

I've made two, a 2X15 and a 4X15" . I really enjoy both . I would think a 2X10" should work nice . DM

My strop i made is 7 1/2 by 2 1/2, the size is due to lack of leather, however it works good enough, only thing i would really like it longer for is my straight razor, given a choice i would go with a 3 X 13 inch strop, or close to that.. need to get me some more leather..

PS: i have a little "Pocket strop" i made, double sided that is about 1 X 5in, if you use it right it will work for evrything you need, bigger is just easyer and faster.
