Premium double bladed folders?

The older, discontinued Spyderco C-44 Dyad is about my favorite all purpose folder of all time. I've tried in vain to see if Spyderco would bring it back but it doesn't seem like anything that can be done anytime soon. To those who are not familiar with the model it's a full sized, double bladed folder with a beautiful Micarta handle with one fully serrated, Spyderedged blade and one beautifully streamlined clip point plain edged blade. It's essentially 2 premium knives in one.

I'm wondering if there are any other premium, full sized, double bladed folders out there that I may not be aware of? And I mean a folder similar to the Dyad with one serrated blade and one good plain edged blade. And I don't want any recommendations of cheap, third world produced, rip-mart garbage. Made In China or Made In Pakistan Or Made in India knives need not apply

Or you can tell me where I can get another Dyad if you want :D But if there are any that fit that desription that I'm overlooking or not aware of please tell me about them. I just can't help but believe that there would be a huge market for such a folder.

The French Facosa Robinson is really quite cool. Think a dual bladed Opinel with a synthetic handle that can handle moisture better. Steel is decent Sandvik 12C27.

If you're interested, I made a short video where you can see it compared to the Micro Dyad (which wasn't convincing to me - too small, but I can imagine that the big one is great) and a Byrd Wings. The video is HERE.

I'll definitely check out that French blade. For a really decent collector piece if nothing else :) I've had knives with Sandvik's steel before and I have no problems with their steel at all. I've never really been a fan of French cutlery but maybe that's about to change.

I don't do the Byrd knives because they are made in China. I will say that they are probably the highest quality Chinese made knives I've ever encountered. But I have other reasons I don't do business with that country. I almost bought a Crossbill because I am truly a Hawkbill fanatic and enjoy using them. But the main Spyderco company makes plenty of great Hawkbills so I don't have to do that.

I was kind of wondering if any of the German companies had ever made a good double bladed knife? I truly wish Fallkniven would make such a beast. I truly am impressed with that company. But I will do some research on this French blade for sure. Very interesting needless to say

I forgot to add that the Robinson costs around 20 euro including a sheath, that's pretty ok in my opinion!

The classic German companies such as Carl Schlieper make traditional muskrat-kind of knives, but I don't know any that makes a version with one of the blades serrated.

Sog Bi-polar serrated. I just got the one with the V-Cutter. Real nice

Hey I'll check it out. I haven't looked at any SOG knives in quite some time. They have some good stuff but they never caught my attention like Spyderco and Benchmade do.

I just can't understand why a lot of premium knife companies haven't jumped on that concept of a premium, 2 edge type, double bladed folder

I would think that there must be a huge market for high quality double bladed folders. I guess that just goes to show you how far ahead of the game Spyderco is in many areas of the market.
