I just got my second Vault as a dealer exclusive It’s a premium version that has S 90 V steel and carbon fiber scales. The bolsters are still aluminum. The version I chose has a black stonewash finish and blue and gray carbon fiber scales. It retails for $134.95. They also make a second premium version which has a satin finish with the S 90 V steel and gold flick carbon fiber scales. It retails for five dollars less at $129.95.
My first Vault was stock with 14C28N steel and green micarta scales. These versions vary between $86 and $93 now. So there’s roughly about a $40 price difference between the basic and premium versions.
I love the Vault. It is such a thoughtfully designed knife. Jacob Lundquist did an excellent job on the ergonomics and value. From the tail mounted pocket clip to the jimping on the spine of the blade. It’s an excellent knife through and through. The action is great. No blade play. And the tension on the crossbar lock is perfect. Well done.
