Please bear with me.

First of all, I hope I am not breaking any rule here by posting this.
I wanted to ask you, fellow forumites and Spyderco enthusiasts, where you preorder your Spydies.
I am asking this as I haven't figured out what is the most effective way to preorder a Spyderco.
So far I always keep an eye on trusted online sellers (Knifecenter, Knifeworks, Grand Prairie, New Graham, Cutlery Shoppe, Spydercovt.com and eventually as well Blade HQ. These are the ones I check on a daily basis. Anyone else you'd suggest?) ONLY, as unfortunately where I live I don't have a Spyderco dealer that suits my needs (the only one around, obstinately refuses to sell at anything less than full MSRP).

Any idea? Thanks.

I pre-ordered a Para 2 (second batch) from Cutlery Shoppe. This is the only time I've pre-ordered, but it's the same deal as ordering a knife in stock, minus the fact that they will not charge you until your order ships.

I check some of the sites you mentioned pretty much every day or at least the dealer area of BF. I have only ever pre-ordered one knife and that was from Knifecenter and I had no problem getting my CF Para2 S90V. I pre-ordered the day after I saw the announcement in the Dealers area.

Yep basically what I do. I guess there isn't some holy grail secret way then, uh? Well, thanks for the input, guys.

I thought they don't accept preorders? I tried to preorder a knife from them but they informed me that they don't accept preorders

Try calling the knife stores you listed and have a conversation with a real person. This whole, "Email" business gets frustrating when you are trying to get something specific and no one is responding to you. That is the easiest way.
It really should not matter too much if you don't have knife shops near you. The computer w/ Internet access is enough to get a very good idea of what is available, costs, dimensions, etc.

That's weird. Maybe it was just for that specific knife. The first thing you see when you go to the site is a big thing about pre-ordering an orange Manix 2.

Must be because the orange Manix 2 is exclusive to them. I was trying to preorder the Para 2.
