Looking at the S!K production schedule, and seeing the 4.7 hit presale, I formed a couple questions in my head.

Did 5.1 already have a presale?

Will the 2.7 have a presale next, and then the 4.1?
 
5.1 yes.

Ide guess that all the others will follow the same pattern
 
The initial 5.1 pre sale is over a couple of weeks or more ago. There will be some more coming up when Survive! is done with the current orders and taken stock of their remaining inventory. There should be another pre sale coming up after the new year so stay tuned.
 
Again, I'm speculating way beyond what I know to be true, but I suspect that the presales were in the nature of a thank you.
The schedule slipped a bit and I think that they wanted to show some progress for the folks that have been patiently waiting.
I believe that their sales model is going to be a bit different in 2016; I think I read something about an "order on Monday and ship by Friday" sales process.

Interesting. Instead of working only on one batch at a time, work to fill incoming orders - with everything on hand ready for work to finish up a complete Survive! knife of course - my speculation.
 
Once all of the starter and presale orders go out, they are going to shut down ordering for a short while, build knives, put them on the site, open ordering and the site will show in stock, ready to ship stuff. Ordering will be open on every monday. I figure you will have to be quick on the gun to get one each monday, but it will eliminate the giant wait times. Orders will probably be open monday and closed monday ten minutes later, but hey, less wait time because the next week it will be open again.
 
Its actually smart. I hope they will be sarpened and only need handles affixed prior to boxing up and sending off.
 
All good points here.

Not only will we have the opportunity to order each Monday, but that order will ship within the week! It will be like a whole new SURVIVE! I'm looking forward to the changes. Is it January yet? :D

We mostly did the GSO-5.1 and GSO-4.7 presales as an end of the year, "Happy Holidays!" from SURVIVE!. There is currently no plan to continue doing presales. The production batches are expected to really speed up in 2016 so I think we are going to be too busy working on preorders and regular orders to be able to offer big batches for sale.

It may take us a few weeks to get ahead but as soon as we can we will start listing knives on Mondays. Those will be already sharpened and waiting to be built. You will still be able to choose handles, fasteners, and sheaths for those orders. Christian and/or myself will get them built and shipped within the week. I am expecting us to sell out every Monday, but at least folks will know that they have the chance to purchase again the next Monday. The Monday sales will probably start Jan 11 or 18 with GSO-5.1s. We should start seeing GSO-4.7 handles any day now so those should start to be available in the first few weeks. We will keep the Production Schedule updated for everyone.

Wow...that was fast as usual....3V is already sold out. :eek:

Looks like I'll have to wait a bit for a 4.7.....glad I got my 5.1 pre-sale order in though. :D
 
When you go to the 4.7 page it immediately says "this combination is unavailable" and there is only the option to add to whishlist, not your cart. 4.7's must be sold out!

EDIT for the new year: The wording for 4.7 availability changed to

Availability:
Will be available for regular ordering once existing orders have been fulfilled.


Adios to the last of the presales. On to bigger and better things on Mondays in 2016!
