prescription pill cases?

I am looking for a good way to store a small supply of prescription drugs on my person. I want something that will prevent them from being crushed by motion. The container needs to be sweat and rain resistant (both penetration and rust).

I think I want something along the lines of a little tube to carry around my neck like a safety whistle. Any recommendations on where to look to find such an item?

How about alternate methods of "on body" carry? As an off shoot question - How about storage in a backpack, car glovebox, etc?

Price is a consideration but, drug integrity is important too ;)

THANKS!

ask at the drug counter for a "nitro" container. They are sm. S.S.
pill cases made for a key/neck chain. Or go to REI and look on there key fob rack for a container made/imported by "Bison Designs" This container is large enough for about 6-8 asprin. I.D. about 3/8's.
You can order direct from Bison Designs, search for them with Google.
Bison also makes a larger container that REI for some reason does not stock. The "nitro" container is about the same size as the "Bison" container from REI.<><

The nitro capsules are too small for almost any other pill known to man. Or at least to me.

One other consideration is the repackaging of many (all??) prescription substances is rather illegal. Inspite of the proliferation of daily and weekly pill containers, actually having many controlled substances outside of their pharmacy supplied containers is a sort of defacto narcotics violation. repackaging of even some over the counter substances can also land you in hot water depending on what jurisdiction you are in when accosted.

If you've got a Walgreens around, they've got a small stainless steel pill fob with a rubber o-ring seal. It runs $4.99 here.

I use it to hold 2 Excederin Migraine, 1 Alleve, 2 Benadryl, 4 kids Tylenol chewable, and 2 Immodium. I use a cotton ball in cap to protect the pills. (Emergency tinder?)

The Kroger chain of grocery stores has an identical fob in white plastic that is much lighter. Same o-ring even and runs $2.99.

latvija, I have been looking for exactly that with no success on the east coast. Is "here" near Kansas City or farther west??

I know we have walgreens here in Springfield. KC probably has them too, but I've never looked for one.

Take a tube of chapstick and clean it out (or wait until it runs out), then carefully break off the stick-thingie in the middle. Works great for carrying almost anything; I've used 'em for carrying needles before (slivers happen), but should be good for pills. I carry Aleave in a little plastic box that originally had aspirin in it, and they do great. (I kept the packing paper to keep them from rattling around.

I have a bunch of small plastic vials that I use for storing pills in small first aid kits (5ml capacity, screw-off tops) that may suit your purposes. They hold about 8 regular sized advil tabs or 6 tylenol caplets fairly easily. If anyone who is interested, drop me a line.

I was preparing to take a short trip and wanted to take just enough meds for the trip and the clerk/pharmacist advised me to take the entire bottle of meds. If police find unlabeled meds in your posession it can delay you up to 72 hours for testing and confirmation and there you are with out meds you need and if there are narcotics it could take longer yet(narcotics =prescribed narcotic painkillers)

If sweat and rain is all you need, check into those Tylenol or Aleve tubes sold at convenience stores. The Tylenol one has a lot of room.

Not waterproof, but pretty close.

The Spy Capsules work for me. I carry 2 capsules with about 3 days worth of 3 meds.

Hope that helps.

Grommit,

"Here" is the Topeka, KS area. I've seen them in Chicago and K.C. as well.

The Walgreen's fob is like the large on this page: http://www.medids.com/PILL_PAL.html.

The noticable difference is that Walgreen's will only set you back $5.00 as opposed to that site's ridiculous $23.00.

I looked at mine and it is identical in size to a Mini Fox40 (original poster was looking for something small like a whistle).

Quite indestructible and waterproof.

I use a water proof match case. They come in two colors, orange and green. Put your matches in one and med.s in the other. I wrapped the one with the matches in it with para cord so I would be able to feel the difference in the dark. They are light and waterproof to boot. You can also purchase a metal capsule at Walgreens drug stores which is water proof. It is in the section with the pill cases. They are about three times the size of the ones that hold nitro tabs. They are water proof and have a ring attached to the top so you can run a line through to hang it around your neck.

I went to the local Walgreens today and checked out what they had. The Nitro cases look really good but, they are just too small to be useful for anything besides Nitro pills. They are dedicated carriers.

The only other thing they had was a really big bulky crude keyring thing. Definitely not something I would keep with me.

If I could find a Nitro case that was SUPERSIZED enough to hold blood pressure and allergy meds, I think I would have what I am looking for.

The search continues......maybe the keychain model.....

What you're looking for is a spy-capsule from SurvivalKeychain.com, Just ordered a few myself.

They are actually a good reason to have something custom made. I made a few years ago from titanium before titanium became known and a fad.
