I received this one back from engraver Darren Reeves a month ago and thought I'd post up some photos. 8" Hossom Hunter-Killer with ash burl handle and relief engraved 416ss bolsters. Incredible work by both artists...

One of the best looking Hossoms I've ever seen. I really like Darren's engraving style. I have a couple done by Darren
and they are my prized possessions.

Wow! So sweet
It surely is a presentation grade :)
I like to have Hossom's 18" OAL Massive Retribution very much but I think it'll be very hard to convince Customs people that it's not a weapon but a utility knife :o
Anyhow I'll think of a way ;)

Really great looking knife. The engraving suits it nicely and the handle contours are wild looking.

Oh Man, that is gorgeous!! Congrats on a beautiful blade. It doesn't get much better than that :)

drives me nuts, knives with mosaic pins that aren't indexed, and this Hossom shows why Jerry is awesome.
Sum of its parts, little things matter.

Hey Lorien, would you describe the difference between indexed vs. not indexed vis a vis mosaic pins? I've not heard the term before. Many thanks.

indexing is when you line things up. I line up the logo printed on a bike tyre, or the pressure, with the valve, and a machinist or watchmaker might engineer their tolerances tightly enough by machining their own screws that the slot in each screw is on exactly the same plane when tightened. I haven't heard the term used when talking about lining up mosaic pins in a handle but the application of the word makes sense to me in that context.

Had this one out today so thought I'd bump it for those who missed the photos.

I saw it the first time around, but I'm sure glad to see it again! Beautiful all the way around.

I met Jerry at Blade in 2001 and admired his work way back then. He influenced me with his small wheel hollow grinds. Just look at this top edge hollow, they don't get tighter than this.
