You won't find this on the shopping site.

27 inch 53.5 ounce presentation grade Royal Banspati by Bura. Perfectly done and fit for a king. Fully engraved blade -- left side shows tiger, elephant, yak, couple of owls + scrollwork. Right side shows double dragon + beautiful scrollwork. Handle fully engraved with tashi dili symbols and daphne (pheasant -- national bird). Karda and chakma handles fully engraved with tashi dili symbols.

Scabbard old style leather fully tooled and very well done. Standard 100 year HI superfrog.

One only and don't know when we'll see another.

At $275 it's a bargain. If anybody wants to offer more we'll take it.

Call or email if interested.

If you do a search on banspati you may come up with more detailed pix of engraving.

Holy Toledo!

Heck Yeah it'll chop wood, but why would you want to do that sort of thing?
(Thoughts of trading things going through my mind...hmmm)

Who got it?

As for chopping wood....Late Friend of mine had Brownings and Brownings, limited editions, special runs, Belgium made. This was before Winchester/Browning. He had several 45/70's, full and short tubes, etched and plain, with that gray oxide finish I can't remember the name of. One day we were looking in the safe and he said, "we oughta take that out and shoot it."

He was serious. It sits there long enough...a blade like the one sold...wants to be used, doesn't it? Lop the head off a revolutionary maoist or two...

It's a beautiful piece,all right.
I've got to ask this, considering my handle: looked at the closeup in the FAQ of the engraving of the animals, and wonder how do owls figure in Nepali culture? Are they bad omens, good ones or just neutral? Or are there particular species that have special significance?(How's that for an OT question, folks?)

Dayumed straight it will!!!! I know because I tested mine out pretty severe with hard chops and sideways as well as extremely hard on the spine. Then took it over to see if I could bend it. Yea, rright Even if I was in a lot better Shape then than I am now.!!!!

Went to one of the good guys who lives in Grand Canyon. He's with us everyday but never posts or emails. Everything by phone.

On our home page there's a pix of Bura doing a handle for a Banspati. He doesn't use a flat plane pattern -- eyeballs it and gets it 99.9% or better every time. I'd do well to get 75% without a pattern. He really is a master.
