I have a 581 Barrage sitting in my mailbox that I can't wait to scoop up after work. I also have a Crooked River and various other BM's and others that I've tried and sold. I'm just mentioning those because of size similarities I guess. For some reason, I can't stop eyeing the 570 Presidio 2. If this thing came in M4, there's no doubt that I would have already ordered it. I know I'd like the 570, but I'm afraid that it would be a catch and release. I doubt it will do anything that my 581 can't and will probably be a bit less practical. But...

After I make a couple other purchases and move some knives around, I would not be surprised if I pick one up if I can find one around the $140 mark. If anybody has one and would want to throw up some comparison photos, I'd much appreciate it. I'd also love to hear other's feedback. Anyone else dying for an M4 model?;)

Almost an ounce heavier then your 581 and black class with a touch more reach and a skosh thicker, the 570 is definitely attractive! But my love for Benchmade's m390 and 20cv surpasses my love for their sv30, so I wish they would at least have an intelligent conversation about why they think their sv30 is all that, and are not offering it in M4 or other incredible steels. My hope is the build your own model lines will expand.

A few weeks ago I purchased a Presidio II manual and I have been nothing but pleased. It was purchased on a whim from a local sporting goods store that had a 25.00 off flash coupon and it was sale priced already. The total was just under 100.00. When I received it I was pleasantly surprised about how it felt in hand for a big knife and has now replaced my crooked river for hard use work. The crooked river is just too pretty, the Presidio II is a work like and my favorite large folder I have.

I keep putting my 570 in my back pocket, but it doesn't stay in my rotation very long. It's a good knife, but a couple things place it lower on my carry list. I'll usually carry the 520 or 590 in a belt pouch instead. However, the 570 does slide into the pocket much better than those two because of the new finish.

Although there are a lot of little things I would prefer they added or took away from the 570, if the handle was just 1/8" less tall (at least around the index finger, but preferably the entire length of the handle) I would carry it much more often (I wear large size gloves). Add a 908 blade grind and S35VN and I would be very happy.
