Greetings all,

I've scanned most of the threads and see little talk and few pictures of single side pressing with a flat back.

Now most pictures don't show one way or the other... I press most of mine single side to allow for an attachment.

Hi, hagatha.

I've moved this thread to Sheaths & Such where it will get more views.

That's basically a personal choice based on how you want the sheath to function, but it does limit your blade orientation options. Most attachment accessories are set up to work ambidextrously (left side/right side) while maintaining the desired blade orientation (edge back/forward).

I do this on sheaths for multi-tools and such that I press because they are so thick, I actually do double foam with the backing sheet flat so it forms better and stretches the kydex down further for a more professional finished look. On my knives though I prefer to have them ambidextrous, centered between the foam in my press. I usually right side carry but if I have one of my pistols on my side I will knife carry over on the left. Here is one I made flat on the back for someone a few weeks back.
