Pretty cool of Hults Bruk to maintain a page of older axes

Thanks for posting the Hults Bruk web site over Moon. Very clever of that company to take hold of their own narrative. Funny to see, from my perspective at any rate having certain direct and significant ties to the Netherlands, from where I am posting over this entry, that the originator of that firm was Dutch, possibly even Frisian from the looks of the surname, but consistent with other instances showing that the Swede of those times, during the height of Dutch power and influence, (sort of the Americans of their day), often went to the Dutch to get their hands on the really good tools.

Interesting!

All I know is that the Dutch had a lot of jokes about Belgians, and I was led to believe Belgians weren't too fond of the Dutch either. This I was learning in the 90s. Since then, for all I could know, given the EU "official" narrative, we might all be singing Kumbaya together :).

While I know a disproportionate number of Dutch people over Belgians, I like both.

Swedes, I had the pleasure of meeting only two. I like them too. They never told me whom they were joking about.

Well you should and I personally encourage you to take up your version with the Hults Bruk people themselves, me just passing on the information posted, (see link from above as reference source).
Here we can see the very well preserved tool collection of the 17century Swedish royal person who apparently felt the need to go all the way out to Amsterdam at the time to get himself all tooled up to the degree he felt suited his royalness. An impressive collection and in no way meant to impress only.

We can all easily imagine that at the time when the Dutch were the masters of the universe, that ol' Golden Age, as they like to say it, that the condition allowed them to excel at the important trades of the day. Were the Dutch innovative? It's a matter I have no opinion on concerning the questions at hand, and as you say, Keven, further they were busy doing what every other group in a similar and different position has, would and do do.

Kevin, you're right on regarding the jokes :).

And of course, I've never had the impression they would throw fists, should they cross paths :).

As for that particular page, looking at the comments it seemed they had some kind of "official" presence (representative). The domain I'm pretty sure belongs to them (I didn't do a lookup), so they must have someone on their side update that page with info (embed), even if it originates somewhere else. It's semantics, but I see your point and have to agree with your observation.

Hults Bruk is the "upscale" line of Hultafors axes marketed at Gransfors-type buyers. Little bit higher fit and finish and quite a bit higher price tag. Hultafors makes Husqvarna axes, as well.

I have nothing to add, except that Husqvarnas were indeed made by both companies (not at the same time as far as I'm aware).

Nice find, KiwiBloke!

Cheers mate! I am looking at buying this head online. Pole is a bit mushroomed but nothing a file won't take care of it looks like. Only thing I am really not sure about is that yellowish looking stuff on the cheek? I can't tell if it is some foreign matter attached to it or some kind of pitting?? She needs some work but I'm thinking it can come back to a lovely piece.
