I'm looking for an attractive knife

fixed or folding i dont really care

moderate to high end steel for everyday purposes.

$0 < price < $1500

Something from the Chris Reeve or William Henry line. Also, with that budget you may be able to go custom, keep that in mind.

I have been dreaming of a william henry for a while. So get one or if you are willing to wait and search go custom.

A lot depends on what you call attractive. Doug Ritter's RSK Mk4 Gentleman's Folder is very attractive though a bit on the smaller side. 2.4" S30V blade. Limited Edition knife. $182

I would suggest that you check out Steel Addiction, True North Knives, Plaza Cutlery, Moore Custom Knives, Robertson Custom Cutlery,The Knife Cellar and EDC Knives.

Yep,,with your budget you could certainly get one higher end custom or several medium priced customs.

Phillip :)

Many thanks to all; I will take a look at all of these. Forgive my saying so but that picture above is not for me, it seems just a tad... feminine.

Check this one - I like it a lot:

Also if you lucky you still may find one of those:

Of course with your budget you may think about something like this:

With your criteria it is really hard to advise - anything will fit.

Thanks, Vassili.

This is exactly the sort of look I'm looking for. I will assume that this is a custom blade though. Yesterday I did come across the site of a man named Darrel Ralph. His blades are a little above my budget, but the MAD MAX IV is very attractive.

I think in this business you need to contact makers directly and they will made knife to you. I doubt that there is market for over $1000 knives to support mass production of this knives. All of them unique and matter of deal between maker and customers.

Also check Ken Onion - http://www.kenonionknives.com/

A KERSHAW NAKAMURA is a pretty knife with Laminated 420j over VG-10 for around $100.00. Might be just the ticket???

I'm not sure how large a knife you need but I agree with looking at Chris Reeve knives for both folding and fixed. You could get an inlayed Sebenza with a damascus blade, and something like a CR Pacific and stay within your budget.

Also look at Randall Made knives. You can get them a little faster through...

In my opinion this is one of the best looking knives I've seen. But my taste may not be the same as yours.

I think Koji Hara makes very 'pretty' knives, and with plain blades of very high quality steel they make great users. They are available from some of the better dealers, or search out his website for a complete range if you are willing to order.
Here is my 'Atlanta Lady' model.
