Pretty nice haul, by my lights.

W J Wilton razor, Schrade Walden NY USA tapered serpentine jack, and Richards of Sheffield big Jack. A little steep, but I'm still happy.
I can't find W J Wilton anywhere in Levine or online, but I have a Wilton bench vise made in Sheffield, so maybe? Anyway, the razor was $3 and the edge is in great shape. The Richards is proving hard to sharpen with my diamond stones, which suggests to me that it's very hard. It hasn't been broken or chipped, which suggests to me that it isn't too brittle.

Thanks, I thought so.
It looks like it was lying open somewhere near a paint-sprayer, which seems a little mysterious.
I need to get something to replace the handle with, maybe G10 or micarta. The one it's got I fear is cel, and it is a little broken.
The brown goop on the blade is Johnson's Paste Wax, by the way.

Not my place to say. But, I think you should make sure whoever replaces (glennbad) the scales saves the shield ( @glennbad ). That is very cool!

Thanks, Jack. I used the Richards in the yard today, gathering pokeweed stalks for the leaf and brush pick-up, and cutting wild grape vines off of the shrubs in back.
I can't find a shield for that Schrade. I might just fill in the pocket with JB Weld. Should make a subtle patch.

Thatrazor is awesome. Gonna use it? I have a cheap modern one but even so it works a treat. I strop it when I feel like it needs it, every couple months maybe. You could spend a hundred bucks on one and it's still far cheaper than cartridge blades in the not too long run. That could last a few lifetimes yet!

Thanks. I'll think about using it at least, but I occasionally wound myself with a safety razor, and the straight has a potential for much grizzlier wounds.
