A certain troglodyte who hates small knives may not be impressed, but Iam! The "village" model is a Chesapeake Bay Knife Collectors Club special, but with rosewood and brass inlays, instead of horn, leather and brass. Sweet!:D
(and as for small, it's an inch longer than a Randall Model 8:) )

If you don't mind me asking how much did the Rosewood job set you back?

MIND! Shoot, I'm braggin' here! Set me back a paltry seventy-five skins, which IIRC is 3/5 of what I paid when I preordered the original KBKC special, before Uncle raised the price when the kamis decided they were losing moneyat the original price. I made out like a bandit on this little beauty!:)
 
I don't go for the little ones either, Berk. But, I was about to make an exception for the brass/rosewood combo when you beat me to it.

Interestingly enough, my experience with the KBKC special has been that, while it is no chopper (except in the kitchen, where it is kinder to a chopping block than a bigger khukuri), it is an amazingly good drawknife for wood and leather work.
 
So, Berk, you going to give us a review? ...in the kitchen...
 
I think a search of the archives might show I've already been there and done that, but to reiterate - a small to medium khukuri is an excellent kitchen knife (Uncle says Yangdu chops up his chopping boards, but she's probably using a 20" AK!). a 14-16" BAS/villager will disjoint chickens, flatten chicken breasts/steaks/chops, mince meat, and slice vegetables as well as a comparably-sized French chef's knife. The smaller CBKC blade is still a good multipurpose food prep tool.
 
I thought about buying that khuk myself, Berk! You beat me to it, though.:D It reminds me of my favorite khuk - a little 9.5" khuk (looks like a dhankuta) with a fully engraved blade and spotted deer antler handle. Uncle got it special order for me about 10 years ago, and it's always been my favorite. :)

I pulled my buddy (Carlos Hathcock wanna be, remember?) off the last time but now i'm sending him to Miami for sure! By the way I'm still waitin on that M43. That would certainly SMOOTH things over. Yes the Dark One has many tricks up his feathered sleeve. I wish I too could retire a will for example.

On the other hand I too would like an M43. A big magnet in space could pull us out of orbit if centered on the cave.
